My Lovely Sewing Tools

Here is the progress I made on My Lovely Sewing Tools over the IHSW:

Before

After

This piece is stitched on 40count Newcastle linen using the DMC conversion except for the variegated red which is an unknown thread I had in my stash!  It's not stranded and it is thicker than two strands of DMC so I have to be careful where I use it.  Anything surrounded by other stitches (eg the "S") is stitched using the plain DMC red.

The other change I've made is to satin stitch all the little cotton reels.  I also want to make all the little pins into pearl headed pins using beads.  I'll add the beads and charms at the end.

The final part is due out 1st May.

Niky's Creations - White Peacock Pincushion

I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it and starting pulling my supplies for stitching and discovered I did not have all the threads I needed. So, I got everything together, started stitching at my monthly EGA meeting, April 13 and finished it this weekend, the April IHSW weekend (April 20-22).

This is from Issue 63, May 2011. I used a scrap of 14 count Aida and the listed DMC threads. I will be making it into either a pincushion or a door hanger. I have to find the perfect baking and will shop for it this weekend. I really loved this piece.

Lizzie Kate - Plant Love

How strange to come and post a GOS recent finish on here and see the exact same design in the post below!

My Plant Love from Issue 28 (May 2008) by Linda Ebright of Lizzie Kate was stitched over 1 on 32ct and made into a little scissor fob for one of the ladies at my local Wednesday evening stitch group.

Each year, she asks me for a new fob for her scissors and i am happy to oblige. I saw this one dangling from her scissors last night and the club as it was her birthday on Sunday and it got the thumbs up approval, the others ladies liked it to. It always makes me happy when a stitched gift is liked and well received (and used).

Thanks for the opportunity to join the ladies here Gillie, looking forward to seeing some finished projects that i have forgotten about and will jog my memory in the issues.

Lizzie*Kate - Plant Love

First of all I want to say thanks to Gillie for sending me the invite, so many lovely things on here already, I hope my finishes will be up to the standard of the rest.
I have so many things from TGOSM on my to-do list but I haven't stitched very many yet, and of the ones I have stitched most are still lying unfinished in a box.

But here is my first FINISHED piece, which I did for a Lizzie*Kate exchange last year.
I hope you all like it too.

Biscornu

This is a biscornu  I stitched this year for a Spring Biscornu  exchange this year. It came from a lovely issue number 29 that has enough ideas for biscornu to last a lifetime.

Hello! and yet another Ink Circles finish

Many thanks again Gillie for starting this blog where we can continue to share designs stitched from the pages of our fave online magazine.
In my first post to this blog I thought it would be nice to follow Gillie’s lead and start with the first design I ever finished from TGOS – well if I had taken a snap it would have been. It was a sweet design titled ‘Delight in the Little Things’ by Helga Mandl Edited on 6 April  (issue ?)  that I made into a little pillow orny and gave to a friend from work.
Well, unexpectedly, the identity of this illusive issue has come to light - touché Gillie (hahaha) Issue number for ‘Delight in the Little Things’ by Helga Mandl is 40.One day I may stitch it again and have a pic to go with this info… Thanks Gillie : )
I am pretty sure below is the second piece I finished however... and I still have it (unframed) awaiting its (as yet unfinished) complimentary design that was released in TGOS a couple of years later. I guess that will be one for a later post : )

Valdani floss 'Maroon Moss' on Belfast linen 'Lavender Mist'

After beginning to stitch this design, I decided to join my first online SAL, Ink Circles Stitchers (of which I am still a member). For me, it was being part of TGOS Yahoo group, which gave me the confidence and inspiration to tread further afield into the world-wide community of stitchers - something I will always be grateful for...

Yeah! I'm in. I'm going to see if I can get you on my iGoogle page so I don't miss anything.

Welcome! And an Ink Circle finish

I am so pleased to see that so many people want to be part of this blog!  I think I have responded to anyone that has asked, but if you haven't heard from me and you have checked your spam mail...... please ask again!

Could I ask you all to put the issue number in your post labels?  I thought it would be interesting to see which issues were the most popular!  However, see below, I was unable to follow through on this request, lol!  I went back and added them to the existing posts, hope that was okay?

Also, send me a link to your blogs, I would love to add them to the list in the sidebar!

There are some lovely photographs going up but I am looking forward to lots more!

Here's one that I stitched as part of a Fair and Square exchange with Daniela in Finland and I am completely stuck as which issue. Edited on 4th April  According to my blog entry back then I say it is November 2008 but I can't find it there!  So apologies, I will find it and edit this post.

Well, as expected, I have been gently chastised (lol) by Liz and she has given me the issue number so I am updating the blog! Thanks, Liz!
